We are seeking to fill a Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst position. The position requires 5+ years of prior experience as a BI Analyst. The position is a consultative technical position working with large enterprise customers who will implement end-to-end data management solutions on multiple BI platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, Snowflake, Alteryx, etc. We are looking for a candidate who can interact directly with our clients to consult, solicit business rules, design, and build solutions to address the client’s business intelligence and/or data management challenges. The BI Analyst may be required to build, modify, and maintain data entities based on customer requirements and initiatives. This position requires working well in teams, as well as independently on projects. As a customer-facing position, excellent communication (oral and written), customer expectation management, responsiveness to customer needs, being proactive in anticipating technical challenges, being meticulous, and having a consultative approach are extremely important to be successful in this position. The ideal candidate will be responsive to customer needs, take a proactive approach in anticipating technical and political challenges throughout a project, have great organization skills with attention to detail, and will take a consultative approach to solving complex data management issues.

Design, development, and implementation of end-to-end data management solutions will require, amongst other things, expertise with Power BI and Tableau for dashboard development with advanced skills in data query and manipulation – data modeling, data blending, and data integration. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in making useful inferences and driving improvement actions from large data sets that are messy and not easily understood.

There may be up to 75% travel required and daily work activities are managed within a virtual environment supported by the ability to telecommute.
- Effectively communicate with internal and external customers to capture current data management requirements and objectives from different stakeholders that define their needs.
- Define and document business intelligence policies and procedures, standards, and metrics to support customer analytic business rules.
- Establish data quality processes and compliance with data standards for data domains.
- Troubleshoot issues with data quality as identified by customers.
- Research new statistical and mathematical techniques that are suitable and helpful for solving business-related problems.
- Working knowledge in R, Python, or other platforms to develop and implement predictive models.
- Perform activities to address data extraction, data validation, data cleansings, data harmonization, business logic, exception handling, and required data indication.
- Design and build a data inventory including field definitions, list of values, and mappings as requested by our customers and defined by requirements.
- Understand key data relationships and customer’s data domains.
- Collaborate with business process owners, data producers, and data consumers to get an understanding of current processes and systems that has a direct impact on the quality of the enterprise data.
- Work with Data Architects to define and maintain a customer data model and analytics solutions.
- Work with stakeholders and the technical team to establish and manage match/merge that identifies duplicate data across data sources and align required action such as survivorship and trust rules in accordance with the organization's data governance procedures.
- Assist customers with validating data integration from operational systems to future solutions.
· Statistical analysis tools (MiniTab, SAS, SPSS, etc.…)
· Data Visualization Tools (Tableau, Tableau Server, PowerBI, Qlik, etc)
· Advance SQL (SQL, Stored Procedures, Dynamic SQL, Joins, Aggregation, etc)
· Deep understanding of Data Storage Solutions (Big Data, RDBMS, NoSQL)
· Deep understanding of Database Systems (Oracle, SQL Server, My Sql, Postgress, etc)
· Build predictive and/or Machine Learning models
· Skilled in one scripting language, such as Ruby, Javascript, Python, VBScript, Shell Script
· Deep understanding of Data Governance, Data Integrity, Master Data Management, Data Quality Design, Develop, and Deployment Best Practices
· Deep understanding of technology-based business processes, including related business models, technical components, modern software development processes, ie, Agile Scrum, etc.
· Experience structuring and analyzing large quantities of data and information for statistical and analytical modeling
· Deep understanding of Business Intelligence Best Practices, Architectures, Tools, Methodologies, and Software
· Strong oral and written communication skills
· Proven ability to partner with client stakeholders from various parts of an organization
· Ability to handle multiple tasks and workstreams in a fast-paced environment
· Exposed to ETL Tools, Best Practice Processes (Enterprise ETL Tools, Self-Service, Data Preparation)
· SDLC methodologies (Waterfall and Agile Development)
· Good communication and leadership skills
· Experience with Data Modeling tools like ERwin, Visio, ER/Studio, Oracle Designer

When you bring additional fields into a conversion, Quickbase often finds inconsistencies. For example, say you're converting your Companies column into its own table. One company, Acme Corporation, has offices in New York, Dallas and Portland. So, when you add the City column to the conversion, Quickbase finds three different locations for Acme. A single value in the column you're converting can only match one value in any additional field. Quickbase needs you to clean up the extra cities before it can create your new table. To do so, you have one of two choices:

  • If you want to create three separate Acme records (Acme-New York, Acme-Dallas and Acme-Portland) click the Conform link at the top of the column.
  • If the dissimilar entries are mistakes (say Acme only has one office in New York and the other locations are data-entry errors) go back into your table and correct the inconsistencies—in this case, changing all locations to New York. Then try the conversion again.
